Results of the project

The participants of the Leonardo da Vinci Partnership Encouraging assistant instructors of horse and animal care in vocational skills collect data about the stock of horses living in the wild in Europe, observe behavior of horses and describe the observed horse breeds.

Forms for the documentation were designed together to use them for further valuation after observation.

The reflection about the observations made is the guideline to work on criteria that should be considered for species-appropriate horsekeeping.

Criteria for species-appropriate horsekeeping

In stables with different kinds of horse keeping the participants get ideas to transfer the criteria resulting from their work before.

The gained ideas and experiences result in planning and designing species-appropriate horse keeping systems considering different animal protection laws in the countries taking part. Furthermore the plans should fulfill work economy and customer satisfaction.

The forms also are offered for download below.
